Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman gladly interacts with participants of the 36th Project Implementation Officers (PIO) meeting hosted by the DSWD.

The PIO meeting was attended by representatives of government agencies with Official Development Assistance (ODA) funded projects. Presided by Secretary Soliman, assisted by DSWD Undersecretary Alicia R. Bala, the meeting discussed ODA financial performance, cross-cutting concerns affecting implementing agencies, new initiatives from ODA partners and good practices in ODA implementation.

The Official Development Assistance Act of 1996 mandated the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) to conduct annual review of the implementation of all programs and projects funded by ODA.

Some of DSWD programs and projects that are ODA-funded are Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) and Poder Y Prosperidad del Communidad, for community driven development, Mitigating Economic and Psycho-social impact of HIV-AIDS, Strengthening Government Mechanisms in Mainstreaming Gender in Reproductive Health Population and Anti-Violence Against Women Program.
