DSWD officials led by Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman (third from right) together with staff and employees gathered around the giant 60th Anniversary cake donated by the Philippine Association of Flour Millers, Inc. (PAFMIL) during the commemoration of the Department’s 60th Founding Anniversary today, January 3, at the DSWD Central Office in Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
A Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Caloocan City Bishop, Most Reverend Deogracias Yniquez, D.D and blowing of the Anniversary candles kicked-off the DSWD’s 60th Founding Anniversary to be celebrated on January 24 to 28, 2011.
Undersecretary Celia Capadocia-Yangco, Chairperson of the 60th DSWD Anniversary committee (second from right) said that several activities have been lined-up for the week-long celebration, including the Grand Homecoming of former DSWD officials & staff, extemporaneous speech and essay writing contests, launching of DSWD’s Coffee Table Book, entitled, “DSWD: 60 Years of Heart and Soul,” PANATA Awards for partners and stakeholders, Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE ) and Loyalty Awards for employees and staff, exhibits, extemporaneous speaking and essay writing contests, and a grand variety show featuring talented employees. ### (DSWD-Social Marketing Service) January 4, 2011
