DSWD in Visayas Region on alert after Earthquake |

Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon Juliano Soliman has instructed the DSWD Regional Directors in the Visayas Region to coordinate with the Local Government Units affected by the intensity 6.9 earthquake in order to extend appropriate assistance.
Secretary Soliman said that the Quick Response Teams of the DSWD Regional Offices in Visayas have been alerted to assist the Local Government Units in assessing the impact of the disaster.
“Rest assured that concerned DSWD Regional Offices have enough standby funds and supplies, ready for distribution to affected Local Government Units,” Secretary Soliman said.
Secretary Soliman added that DSWD social workers are ready to assist the social workers of the affected LGUs in cases where evacuation of families in coastal areas will be implemented. ### (DSWD-Social Marketing Service) February 6, 2012.
