Despite being most affected by the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine amid COVID-19, beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Barangay Patiao, Penarrubia, Abra, did not think twice about showing compassion and sharing their blessings to their neighbors.

Headed by their parent leader, Dorothy Marcos Magahin,  they voluntarily contributed any amount from the emergency subsidy that they received from the government through the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to buy grocery items.  They repacked these goods  and distributed them to their neighbors. Around 35 non-4Ps families were given food packs to help them tide over these critical times.

4Ps beneficiaries in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) received P4,150 as top up to their regular cash grants and rice subsidy. There are 12,023 4Ps beneficiaries in Abra, 363 are in the town of Pennarubia with 47 residing in Barangay Patiao.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the lead implementing agency of 4Ps is proud and grateful to all the program beneficiaries who are helping their fellow kababayan. This is a testament that 4Ps families, in their own little way, can give meaning to Bayanihan in times of emergency. ##
