DSWD continues nationwide social pension payout for indigent senior citizens

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues its nationwide payout of social pension stipends to indigent senior citizens as part of the Marcos government’s broader efforts to uphold their welfare and dignity nationwide.

As of June 9, the Department has served a total of 3,403,182 beneficiaries for the first quarter of 2026 and 1,286,658 beneficiaries for the second quarter stipend at PhP1,000 per month.

Among the regions with the highest number of beneficiaries served are Regions 10 (Northern Mindanao) with 162,663; 7 (Central Visayas) with 156,131; 6 (Eastern Visayas) with 152,371; MIMAROPA with 147,482; 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN) with 145,875; and CARAGA with 114,693.

Director Alfrey Gulla of the Protective Services Bureau (PSB) said the DSWD continues to intensify its efforts to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of stipends to eligible senior citizens nationwide.

“Patuloy nating pinaiigting ang payout activities sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa upang matiyak na natatanggap ng ating mga seniors ang kanilang social pension sa lalong madaling panahon. Malaki ang naitutulong nito sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na gastusin, partikular sa pagkain, gamot, at iba pang mga pangunahing pangangailangan,” Director Gulla said on Wednesday (June 10).

“Alinsunod po ito sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na tiyaking napapangalagaan at natutugunan ang pangangailangan ng ating mga nakatatandang Pilipino, lalo na ang ating mga indigent senior citizens na higit na nangangailangan ng suporta mula sa pamahalaan,” Director Gulla added.

In Central Visayas, a total of 3,401 indigent senior citizens from 44 barangays in Ubay, Bohol received their second quarter social pension stipends during a two-day payout activity conducted last June 2 and June 4 conducted by local officials with the help of personnel from the DSWD’s Field Office (FO) 7.

The DSWD official said the Department remains committed to strengthening the implementation of the program in coordination with local government units (LGUs) and partner agencies.

“Sa tulong ng ating mga partner LGUs at agencies, mas napapabilis natin ang payout operations at masisiguro nating maayos na naipapahatid ang tulong sa ating mga nakatatandang benepisyaryo,” Director Gulla said.

The Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC) serves as a core government assistance program that provides a monthly stipend of Php1,000 to qualified indigent elderly Filipinos to augment their daily subsistence and medical needs. (CC)

The DSWD is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. The DSWD only has access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via the modules of this website or other direct contact from you. All of the provisions in the Data Privacy Act will be observed specifically on the management of personally identifiable information.

Information collected may be used as a basis for client response regarding services or intervention that may be provided by the DSWD. Information will not be shared with any third party outside of the Government, other than as necessary to fulfill the requested services of a client. The DSWD takes precautions to protect information. Upon submission of sensitive information via the website, information is protected both online and offline. Wherever the Department collects sensitive information (such as passport and Birth Certificates), that information is encrypted and transmitted to the DSWD in a secure manner. This may be verified by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, certificate printing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers, where personally identifiable information is stored, are kept in a secure environment.
