The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) extended aid to locally stranded individuals (LSIs) in Metro Manila during the third part of the Hatid Tulong Grand Send-Off on October 19, 2020 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex, Pasay City.

DSWD provided Family Food Packs (FFPs), sleeping kits, hygiene kits, and pre-departure financial assistance worth P2,000 each to 154 LSIs who returned to Regions VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII.

After receiving assistance, the LSIs were transferred to Pier 13 where they were transported to their respective regions through the help of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Upon arriving in their respective hometowns, the LSIs are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine to ensure that they are free from COVID-19.

Hatid Tulong, led by the Presidential Management Staff, is an initiative of different national government agencies to provide aid to LSIs who will return to their respective provinces. Other government agencies who were also involved in the initiative were the Philippine Army (PA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Department of Agriculture (DA). ###
