The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is participating in the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) Mini Caravan, which is currently being conducted across the country, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Department, through its various Field Offices nationwide, will conduct information caravans on the programs and services that can be accessed by the urban poor  as its participation to the PCUP led-activity.

The PCUP Mini Caravan, which serves as a one-stop-shop of services for the people, intends to bring the government closer to the public. It kicked off  on July 14 in Arayat, Pampanga and will be happening in at least 30 other covered areas in the Philippines until the end of the year.

With this event, the DSWD, together with the different participating agencies, will be able to provide assistance and inform the public of the services that they can avail of, especially during this time of global health crisis.

Pursuant to Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 Series of 2020 that operationalizes the Executive Order No. 67, Series of 2018, areas of cooperation and coordination among DSWD, PCUP, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, and National Anti-Poverty Commission were identified. Through this harmonization, the simplification of the respective system and process of these agencies were provided to ensure responsiveness and ease in the delivery of the essential public service. ###
