The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has received more than P600 million Quick Response Fund (QRF) replenishment from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) which will be used to cover relief and rehabilitation operations for families and individuals affected by calamities.

As of today, the Department has more than P1.4 billion worth of stockpiles and standby funds that can be used for disaster operations. This consists of 275,591 family food packs (FFPs) amounting to more than P123 million, other food items amounting to more than P187 million, and non-food items (FNIs) amounting to more than P275 million. The total amount also includes the QRF amounting to more than P888 million which is readily available for release as augmentation assistance to disaster affected regions.

With the provision of additional funds, the Department assured the public that it will continue to provide relief support to local government units (LGUs) to help them meet the  needs of their disaster-affected constituents.

Likewise, DSWD commits to continue to maintain its strong coordination with concerned LGUs in providing quality social protection programs for the affected population. ###
