Officer-in-charge of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Office of the Asst. Secretary for Strategic Communications Group (StratComm) and Agency Operations Service (AOS) Director Lara Duran and Digital Media Service (DMS) Director Dianne Joie Ruiz open the DMS-organized Digital Media Workshop at Maharajah Hotel in Angeles, Pampanga on Monday (September 23).

Attended by communications and regional information officers from the Central Office and the agency’s Field Offices from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the workshop aimed to upskill the technical knowledge of the members of DSWD communications group in strengthening the agency’s social media presence anchored on its Branding and Visual guidelines.

During the workshop, the participants engaged in various activities to enhance their skills in producing Digital Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.

The participants also gained fresh concepts and insights from the guest resource speakers — Ms. Jasmin Homo, Mr. Neal Andrew Lim, and Mr. Richard Cawed—who shared their expertise on writing, graphic designing, photography and video editing.

The workshop culminated on Friday (September 27) with the participants showcasing their output from their newly-acquired skills in storytelling techniques through photography, video editing, and graphic designing.#
