Some 2,006 households affected by a recent fire in Barangay 105 in Tondo, Manila received financial assistance under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) Program on Monday (September 30).

During the payout at the Vicente Lim Elementary School, the Department provided ECT assistance worth Php10,140 to each affected family.

Present to oversee the payout activity were DSWD Undersecretary for Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) Diana Rose Cajipe and DSWD Field Office-National Capital Region Asst. Regional Director Bienvenido Jr. V. Barbosa.

Also present were Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, and Councilor Marjun Isidro.

The ECT is a part of the DSWD’s continued efforts to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services and programs to disaster-stricken families.
