The idea of coming-up with this online magazine is in response to the need of reviving a publication for the Department and maintain its circulation. However, this time the publication will be online, using the social media platforms. In an attempt to establish this, the responsibility is now up to us.

This is the first time that the Department will be doing online publication of magazines and newsletters. The utilization of online medium was seen an opportunity, since it is free and easy to manage. The shifting dependency of today’s generation from traditional communication channels (print and radio) to digital platforms like social media and email marketing, inspired us to adapt and make full use of the technology.

Through this initiative, we aim to generate support to the Department’s advocacies by inciting first public awareness of the Department’s programs and services, undertakings, accomplishments, thrusts and priorities, and its long-term vision and mission for the Filipino people. We thought that the duty of providing the public their information need lies on us, each and every DSWD employee and official.

As an employee or official of the Department, can you immediately answer a client who suddenly asked you: “Paano sumali sa 4Ps, “Paano kumuha ng travel clearance?, Ano ang mga kailangan upang makahingi ng medical assistance? If the public knows that you are working in DSWD, they assume that you know everything about your agency.

The e-Digest contains success stories that will make the material attain its purpose. These are the testimonies of our clients of their breakthroughs through the aid of various DSWD programs and services. These are the stories that accounts the developments in our Department.

In making the material more dynamic and appealing, the editorial team welcomes any suggestion for its contents, article contributions, contents for the announcement section, and photos.

Meanwhile, the e-Magazine was named “Malasakit e-Digest” to remind us of our commitment to serving the public with compassion, and inspire them to keep working towards social change. The title embodies the Department’s core values of Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo, Walang Puwang sa Katiwalian, and Pantay na Trato sa Komunidad.
