The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) regional Field Offices are set to start the distribution of cash relief assistance to tricycle drivers affected by the escalating oil prices outside the National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday (April 8).

Around 146 venues in 121 cities nationwide, outside Metro Manila, have been identified by the DSWD’s Field Offices in collaboration with the local government units (LGUs) to serve as payout sites for the eligible tricycle drivers.

“Gaya po ng pangako ng kalihim ng DSWD, Secretary Rex Gatchalian, at alinsunod sa utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., magsisimula na ang Departamento na mamahagi ng cash assistance sa mga tricycle drivers sa labas ng Metro Manila,” Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao said on Tuesday (April 7).

According to Asst. Secretary Dumlao, the DSWD spokesperson, aims to distribute cash assistance to more than 328,000 beneficiaries as of press time at the following payout sites:

The lists of beneficiaries, as mentioned by the spokesperson, were submitted by the local government units (LGUs) to DSWD Field Offices (FOs).

“Batay sa mga ibinigay na listahan ng mga lokal na pamahalaan, mayroon tayong tinatayang 328,000 na benepisyaryo, mga tricycle drivers in major cities sa regions outside of NCR, na makatatanggap ng Php5,000 sa April 8,” the spokesperson pointed out.

The DSWD official reiterated that help desks will be available at all payout sites to assist drivers encountering issues, such as not being included on the list of beneficiaries.

All tricycle drivers are encouraged to coordinate with their respective LGUs for updates on cash relief assistance payouts.
