4Ps members from Navotas, Malabon receive mobile phones from DSWD, partners

Some 50 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries from the Cities of Navotas and Malabon receive new mobile phone units from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian and officials of Globe Telecom, GCash operator, and G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI) during the launching of the 4Ps Mobile Phone Distribution on Tuesday
(March 18) at the Navotas Sports Complex.

The mobile phone distribution is part of the “e-Panalo ang Kinabukasan” financial digital initiative of the 4Ps that aims to educate, inform, and encourage beneficiaries to utilize digital applications for managing their finances, especially for the beneficiaries living in remote areas.

Joining Secretary Gatchalian in the turn over ceremony were GLOBE Telecom Deputy Chief Executive Officer Carl Cruz; G-Xchange President and CEO Oscar Enrico Reyes, Jr., and Navotas City Representative Toby Tiangco.

Other DSWD officials present in the event were Undersecretary Vilma Cabrera and Asst. Secretary Marites Maristela of the DSWD Conditional Cash Transfer and Beneficiary Targeting Group (CCTBTG); Asst. Secretary Ana Maria Paz Rafael of the DSWD Partnership Building and Resource Mobilization Office (PBRMO); and, DSWD Field Office National Capital Region (NCR) Director Michael Joseph Lorico.

Also present to witness the turn over ceremony were Navotas City Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez; Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Deputy Governor Mamerto Tangonan; Land Bank of the Philippines Vice President Arnel Tuazon; BPI Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Carmina Marquez; and, Ayala Foundation, Inc. Head of Corporate Citizenship and Volunteerism Cenen Milan. (AKDL)
