DSWD Comms team, IOs get fresh angle on news writing techniques

More than 30 Information Officers (IOs) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Central Office participated in a meeting and workshop on basic news writing and photo captioning held at the Auditorium last August 13. Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) for Strategic Communications Raymond Robert Burgos served as the resource speaker in the IO meeting and workshop. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Monday (August 26) reiterated its firm position on protecting those who cannot protect themselves, particularly minors who are subjected to abuse, including human trafficking and sexual exploitation. “As the agency tasked with safeguarding the well-being of our nation’s most vulnerable, the DSWD cannot stay silent in the face of the serious charges against Mr. Apollo Quiboloy. DSWD eyes setting up of reg’l offices to handle reintegration of former rebels, non-state armed groups

DSWD-issued Guarantee Letters for burial assistance now accepted by selected funeral parlors

A senior official of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reiterated on Wednesday (August 21) that the agency-issued Guarantee Letters (GLs) under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) are now being accepted by selected funeral parlors and memorial service providers across the country. “Individuals in crisis situations who need assistance for the burial expenses of their loved ones can request for a guarantee letter from the DSWD.
