DSWD chief orders prepositioning of more food packs to Northern Luzon amid TS Ofel

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Wednesday (November 13) ordered the prepositioning of more family food packs (FFPs) in Northern Luzon as Tropical Storm Ofel continues to threaten the area. DSWD distributes cash aid to 17K mall workers

Approximately 17,000 mall employees are expected to receive financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP). On Tuesday (November 12), personnel of the DSWD Field Office-National Capital Region (NCR) distributed Php5,000 cash aid to each of the beneficiaries under the AKAP program at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia (MOA). Over 53,000 low-income and minimum-wage earners employed at the four major malls in Metro Manila received cash assistance through the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Office-National Capital Region (NCR).
