Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Tuesday (May 6) extended his sympathies to the bereaved families of the fatalities of the Labor Day vehicular collision along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

The DSWD chief told the families that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr also conveys his condolences and has given instructions to check on their welfare.

Secretary Gatchalian has assigned a social worker to coordinate with the family members for other assistance which the agency may provide to help them go through this difficult period in their lives.

Accompanying Secretary Gatchalian during his visit to the wake of the fatalities at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Antipolo City were Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez of the DSWD’s Operations Group (OG) and Social Welfare Officer Renelyn Gonzaga of the DSWD’s Field Office CALABARZON.
