The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) digital and financial literacy drive continue to gain ground across the country, this time empowering over 200 members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Bukidnon province.
Dubbed as ‘e-Panalo ang Kinabukasan’, the DSWD’s digital initiative was launched on Tuesday (July 22) at the Bukidnon Sports and Cultural Complex in Malaybalay City, the highlight of which is Globe Telecom’s donation of mobile phones to 4Ps members who have opted to shift from cash cards to digital wallets in receiving their monthly grants.
On behalf of Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Asst. Secretary Marites Maristela of the DSWD’s Conditional Cash Transfer Group (CCTG) said the initiative takes-off from the agency’s goal, along with its partners, for an inclusive digital transformation, particularly among 4Ps beneficiaries in geographically-isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).
A graduation ceremony also took place to recognize the success of 100 beneficiaries from Bukidnon who will be exiting from the 4Ps this year. Joining the twin-events “Kinabukasang e-Panalo, Pugay-Tagumpay na Tunay” were Asst. Secretary Ellaine Fallarcuna of the DSWD’s CCTG Support for Operations and Field Office 10 – Northern Mindanao Regional Director Ramel Jamen.
Local chief executives from the province also graced the program, firming up their support behind the milestone events. (LSJ)
