Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Monday (September 23) inspects the progress of the ongoing renovation of the Social Welfare and Development Center for Asia and the Pacific (SWADCAP), which is now called the DSWD Academy.

Secretary Gatchalian was accompanied in the inspection by Undersecretary for Standards and Capacity Building Group (SCBG) Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas, Asst. Secretary for SCBG Janet Armas, and Asst. Secretary for Community Engagement Ulysses Hermogenes Casimiro Aguilar.

Under the leadership of Secretary Gatchalian, the SWADCAP was rebranded as the DSWD Academy, which aims to provide globally competitive learning opportunities for professional development using both international and local resource materials on social welfare and development and social protection. It aims to cater to social workers, social welfare assistants, community development practitioners, and other paraprofessionals. #
