Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, together with other agency executives, receives two new ISO certifications for the agency’s quality management and information security efforts during a ceremonial awarding on Monday (February 17) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City.
The DSWD received the ISO 9001:2015 recertification from the SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. Otherwise known as the international benchmark on Quality Management, the ISO recertification reaffirms that every program and initiative implemented by the DSWD meets the highest global standards.
Another certification, the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 was conferred by the SGS Philippines, Inc. which is a first of its kind given to the Department. This ISO certification confirms that the DSWD’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) has a structured framework to safeguard all of its stored data and information, and to mitigate cybersecurity threats.
After the ISO awarding, the DSWD launched its Paspas Gobyerno Information System (PASPAS G-IS), an online-based document monitoring and tracking system that seeks to streamline all of the agency’s internal transactions and processes.
The ISO awarding and the PASPAS G-IS launching are part of the DSWD’s week-long celebration for its 74th anniversary.
Joining the DSWD chief in the twin ceremonies were Undersecretary Adonis Sulit of the Policy and Planning Group (PPG), Asst. Secretary Rodolfo Santos of PPG, and Division Chief Sandy Roy Ocampo of the Information and Communications Technology Management Service (ICTMS).
