Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian unveils on Tuesday (February 18) the agency’s newest online systems, the ‘Harmonized Electronic Licensing Permit System (HELPS) and the ‘Minors Travelling Abroad (MTA)’ portal, during the DSWD’s 74th Anniversary celebration held at the SMX Convention, with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr as guest honor.
In his message, the Chief Executive recognized the DSWD’s laudable initiatives to fortify the agency’s services amid the growing demand for digitalization to meet the evolving needs of the public.
Now officially launched, the HELPS shall serve as a digital one-stop-shop for the agency’s regulatory services, allowing social welfare and development agencies (SWDAs) to lodge and process their registration, license and accreditation as well as solicitation permits at the comfort of their homes.
In the same way, application and issuance of clearances for minors travelling abroad (MTA) will be streamlined through the MTA portal.
The event also unveiled the DSWD’s “Pamilya Sa Bagong Pilipinas Compendium,” a development model that provides a walkthrough to the different programs and services of the DSWD based on family life transitions and the life cycle approach.
