DSWD highlights community-based program for persons with disabilities in ASEAN symposium

The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) highlighted the agency’s community-based interventions for persons with disabilities during an online workshop organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in coordination with the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) last Tuesday (May 6). Over 800,000 4Ps members now tagged as self-sufficient – DSWD spox

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to celebrate the success of household-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) who have achieved self-sufficiency level. “We are very happy to announce that, as of April 30, a total of 860,471 members of 4Ps have exited the program after achieving an improved level of well-being. These households were tagged as self-sufficient based on the Social Welfare and Development Indicators (SWDI), making them eligible to exit on or before the completion of the seven-year maximum stay in the program,” Asst. DSWD chief visits wake of 4-year-old NAIA 1 car crash victim

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Friday (May 9) visited the wake of the 4-year-old kid who was one of the two fatalities in the car crash at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 last May 4. The DSWD chief extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the agency, through the DSWD Field Office-CALABARZON, will continue to reach out to them to provide additional social welfare interventions. DSWD, PAWS heighten push for animal-aided therapy, responsible pet ownership

Continuing the momentum for their collaborative project ‘Angel Pets,’ the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) held on Thursday (May 8) a one-day event to elevate awareness on animal-aided therapy and the importance of responsible pet ownership. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led by its Committee on Anti-Red Tape (CART), conducted a nationwide frontline service inspection on Thursday (May 8) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City.
