DSWD chief assures synced disaster response among Field Offices amid ‘Crising’, habagat

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Friday (July 18) said the agency’s Field Offices (FO) across the country will continue to be on guard for a synchronized disaster response amid the two weather systems— Tropical Cyclone Crising and the southwest monsoon or habagat— prevailing in the country. “Kasi yung Bagyong Crising, yung hilaga ang tatamaan pero yung habagat nasa west side ng Pilipinas. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has welcomed the results of the June 2025 Ulat ng Bayan national survey by Pulse Asia Research, Inc., which reflected a growing public confidence in the national government’s quick disaster response in areas affected by calamities. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) welcomed the initiative of the Marcos administration to increase the fare discounts of senior citizens and persons with disabilities from the statutory discount of 20 percent to 50 percent in the three elevated railway lines in Metro Manila.
