DSWD’s Project LAWA and BINHI brings back ‘love’ for agriculture to 134k poor families

DSWD chief cites MAKABATA Helpline 1383 as lifeline of hope for children

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) commended the establishment of the MAKABATA Helpline 1383 as one of the significant initiatives that reflects the Philippine government’s commitment to protect and uphold the rights of children. “The MAKABATA Helpline is a 24/7 service dedicated to providing support to children in need of special protection here in the Philippines. Real Life Stories – How DSWD’s Pag-abot brought hope to Aetas of Capas, Tarlac

In February 2024, social workers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Central Office went to Capas, Tarlac to listen to the Aetas from Barangays Maruglu and Sta. Juliana express their needs which could help them improve their lives. Three months later in May, the social workers from the DSWD’s Pag-abot Program returned to the Aetas’ municipality with no less than Secretary Rex Gatchalian joining the team. Php202M in aid given by DSWD to families affected by recent weather disturbances – DRMB chief

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided more than Php202 million worth of aid to families affected by recent disasters including Tropical Depression Bising, the southwest monsoon or habagat, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), and volcanic activities of Mt. Kanlaon.
