Community project under DSWD revives marine ecosystem battered by typhoons

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) prioritizes the importance of implementing programs that protect the environment from the impacts of climate change. Former 4Ps beneficiary reaches dream to become a teacher

Graduation photos of Rigine Ulgasan, a Pantawid sa Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary who passed the 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). Holding on to her dream for a better life for her family, Rigine Ulgasan faced various challenges in life in order to become a teacher. Rigine grew up as the eldest of four siblings in a simple household in Calatrava, Negros Occidental. Her father was a habal-habal driver while her mother was a Barangay Health Worker. DSWD’s Yakap Bayan Program helps former drug surrenderer find redemption

Fifty-three-year-old Jungie, a resident of Barbaza, Antique, openly confessed to getting involved with illegal drugs, which eventually resulted in his painful separation and estrangement from his family. Jungie used to work as a public utility vehicle (PUV) driver, and a loving husband to Joy and caring father to  two boys and one girl.  His only girl, however, died in 2017. DSWD’s partnership with TESDA paves way for women to excel in skilled labor

As part of its continued thrust to institutionalize gender and development (GAD), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office (FO) VIII partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to train women on skills that are considered as fit only for men.
