DSWD-PAWS ‘Angel Pet’ project brings social welfare, animal welfare together

Compassion, respect, and protection should not only be given to human beings but also to our four-legged furry friends who cannot speak for themselves. DSWD chief visits wake of 4-year-old NAIA 1 car crash victim

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Friday (May 9) visited the wake of the 4-year-old kid who was one of the two fatalities in the car crash at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 last May 4. The DSWD chief extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the agency, through the DSWD Field Office-CALABARZON, will continue to reach out to them to provide additional social welfare interventions. DSWD, PAWS heighten push for animal-aided therapy, responsible pet ownership

Continuing the momentum for their collaborative project ‘Angel Pets,’ the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) held on Thursday (May 8) a one-day event to elevate awareness on animal-aided therapy and the importance of responsible pet ownership. DSWD provides psychosocial aid to trafficked minors rescued in Pangasinan

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has extended immediate psychosocial intervention and other protective services to the 10 trafficked minors who were recently rescued in Sual, Pangasinan. “These children have been through traumatic experiences and require safety, emotional healing, and long-term support. DSWD Central Office holds nationwide frontline service inspection

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led by its Committee on Anti-Red Tape (CART), conducted a nationwide frontline service inspection on Thursday (May 8) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City.
