DSWD’s REFUEL Project in support of WGP scale up gets nod of NEDA-ICC CabCom

The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Reducing Food Insecurity and Undernutrition with Electronic Vouchers (REFUEL) Project that will scale up the Walang Gutom Program (WGP) for 2025-2028 has been green-lighted by the National Economic and Development Authority – Investment Coordination Committee Cabinet Committee (NEDA ICC-CabCom). The REFUEL Project that supports the WGP is under the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and to be co-financed by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ Fund for International Development (OPEC-FID). In preparation for the 20-day tutorial and parenting sessions under the Tara, Basa! The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is now studying an increase in the current Php3,000 monthly food credits provided to beneficiaries of the Walang Gutom Program (WGP) as part of the agency’s continued efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity in the country. More than 2,500 clients in crisis were provided with psychosocial assistance through the Wireless Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (WiSupport) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
