Government still on track in fight against poverty, hunger amid latest SWS survey – DSWD spox

An official of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Monday (April 14) the National Government is still on track in its goal of attaining single-digit poverty incidence by 2028 based on the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) results of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that showed poverty incidence dropping to 15.5 percent or 17.54 million people in 2023. Former DSWD 4Ps monitored child tops board exam, now licensed electronics technician

A former monitored child of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has topped the 2025 Electronics Technician Licensure Examination (ECTLE). Jayvee Fuentebella, who hails from Bacolod City, garnered the highest score of 95 percent out of the 2,411 examinees. DSWD psychological first aid team conducts ‘Kamustahan’ with Myanmar quake survivors

The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Psychological First Aid (PFA) providers meet with the members of the Philippine Rapid Response Deployment Team (PRRDT) on Saturday night (April 12) to discuss updates on the conduct of the first day of the ‘Kamustahan’ or psychosocial counseling sessions with individuals affected by the 7.7 magnitude quake that hit Myanmar on March 28. There is a platform where the public can raise their complaints as well as other concerns and queries to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) without divulging their names or salient personal details, an agency official said on Saturday (April 12). DSWD psychological first aid providers arrive in Myanmar

The Psychological First Aid (PFA) providers from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have arrived in Yangon, Myanmar on Friday (April 11) to provide psychosocial counseling for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), mostly teachers, who were affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit this Southeast Asian country. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has mobilized its psychological first aid (PFA) team to provide immediate support to survivors of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28. In March 2024, members of the Tumana Vegetable Farmers Association (TVFA) from Santa Maria, Bulacan received an unexpected blessing through the Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) and BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The 60 farmers were given 20 days to work on a project under LAWA at BINHI and were given cash for training and cash for work assistance.
