DSWD extends Php550K in initial aid to shearline-affected families in MIMAROPA

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has extended Php550,000 in initial aid to families affected by adverse weather due to a shear line that continues to prevail over the MIMAROPA Region, an agency official reported on Tuesday (February 11). “The DSWD has already sent Php550,129-worth of family food packs (FFPs) to augment the resources of local government units (LGUs) across MIMAROPA, particularly in areas where the heavy rainfalls brought heavy flooding, flashfloods, and landslides,” Asst. The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has successfully helped over 600,000 household-beneficiaries to achieve self-sufficiency in 5 years since the 4Ps was institutionalized in 2019. “As of December 2024, we are proud to report that a total of 677,658 household-grantees of the 4Ps program were able to become self-sufficient,” Asst.
