The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) held the Gawad Sulong Awards on Friday (August 30) at the Sequioa Hotel in Quezon City. The event highlighted the outstanding achievements, dedication, and unwavering commitment of SLP participants, employees, and partners who are actively involved in the program. In her message, Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez of the DSWD’s Operations Group, said the Gawad Sulong Awards gives recognition to the efforts, passion and dedication of participants, partners and beneficiaries that make the SLP a successful anti-poverty reduction program of the Department.

Indigent senior citizens can now receive their  social pension on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis, instead of the previous semestral or every six months payout, an official of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Thursday (August 29). “Secretary Rex Gatchalian instructed all the DSWD Field Offices (FOs), through the regional directors, to follow the new schedule of social pension payouts.
