Officials and staff of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) met and briefed on Tuesday (September 10) Senator Joel Villanueva on the agency’s climate change mitigation and adaptation program, the Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) and BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished). “Project LAWA and BINHI is a cash-for-training and -work program of the Department that aims to strengthen the adaptive capacities of poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged families and communities to manage socio-environmental and disaster-related risks,” DSWD Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) Maria Isabel Lanada explained in the meeting.
