The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is set to come up with a more refined protocol on handling children in situations of armed conflict (CSAC) to enhance the agency’s capacity to protect them from all forms of abuse, violence, neglect, cruelty, discrimination, and other conditions prejudicial to their development. “Here in the DSWD, we are very true to our mandate to serve our kababayans. DSWD distributes Php9.8M in cash aid to Mt. Kanlaon evacuees in Negros Occidental

The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Office (FO) 6 – Western Visayas on Thursday (May 15) distributed Php9.8M in cash aid to families and individuals displaced by the Mt. Kanlaon eruption in Negros Occidental. During simultaneous payout activities, a total of 1,711 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) each received Php5,775 in cash assistance. Of the total recipients, 1,362 were from La Castellana, 327 from La Carlota City, and 22 from Bago City. DSWD assists 8 human trafficking survivors in Zambales

Social workers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 3-Central Luzon responded swiftly to assist eight individuals who were rescued in an anti-human trafficking entrapment operations led by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday (May 14) at a bar in East Dirita, San Antonio, Zambales.
