813 trafficked persons recover from trauma with DSWD’s reintegration program

Recognizing the vile nature of human trafficking, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to strengthen its Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP), serving 813 victim-survivors for the first semester of 2025, an agency official said on Friday (July 11). Php202M in aid given by DSWD to families affected by recent weather disturbances – DRMB chief

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided more than Php202 million worth of aid to families affected by recent disasters including Tropical Depression Bising, the southwest monsoon or habagat, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), and volcanic activities of Mt. Kanlaon. Parking spaces for persons with disabilities, seniors open to all vehicle types – DSWD spox

DSWD to push for strict implementation of laws on persons with disabilities in public transport

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is pushing for the strict implementation of the Magna Carta for Persons with Disabilities and similar laws that protect them from discrimination in public utility vehicles (PUVs). DSWD spokesperson Asst. Aside from distributing the much-needed food packs and non-food relief items to communities affected by disaster, social workers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) also respond to “invisible wounds” caused by the destruction of lives and homes. “As responders, we are trained to provide food, shelter, and safety, but we must also be prepared to respond to invisible wounds—the psychological and emotional trauma people carry in the wake of disasters,” Asst. Residents of Barangay Cabatacan West in Lasam, Cagayan province can now enjoy improved access to government services and livelihood opportunities with the completion of a newly-concreted road with reinforced concrete pipe culvert.
