DSWD Field Office 5 distributes hot meals to evacuees in Albay town

In response to Tropical Storm Enteng, the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Office 5 – Bicol Region successfully distributed hot meals to 504 evacuees at the TESDA Building in Barangay Caratagan, Pio Duran town, Albay province, on Monday (September 2). The provision of hot meals, cooked from the food items of the family food packs, is part of the agency’s continued efforts in assisting individuals affected by Enteng. DSWD chief leads follow-up meeting on regional disaster response for ‘Enteng’

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian holds a follow-up virtual meeting with Field Office (FOs) regional directors (RDs) to discuss disaster response updates, needs, and gaps on the effects of Tropical Storm EntengPH through its Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) on Monday (September 2). During the meeting, Secretary Gatchalian provided further guidance to all RDs and their representatives in relation to EntengPH. Joining the DSWD Secretary were DRMG Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe and DRMG Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, along with other key DRMG officials and personnel.#

DSWD deploys Field Office-5’s mobile command center to Cam Sur

DSWD hands over 5k boxes of relief supplies to Taguig LGU

Disaster response and management personnel of the local government unit (LGU) of Pasig City have started their pick-up of the 5,000 boxes of family food packs (FFPs) on Monday (September 2) from the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay City. The FFPs were requested by the LGU from the DSWD’s Disaster Response and Management Group (DRMG) amid the onslaught of Typhoon Enteng.#

DSWD Field Office-5 leads relief distribution in Camalig, Albay

Personnel from the DSWD Field Office-5 are facilitating the distribution of Family Food Packs (FFPs) to families affected by Tropical Storm Enteng in Camalig, Albay Province, today, September 2, 2024. A total of 66 FFPs are being distributed to internally displaced families across 8 barangays in the municipality, which have been severely impacted by heavy rains and flooding from the storm. DSWD FO-5 continues to coordinate with local governments to provide immediate assistance to those in need and to the affected families.#

10k Western Visayas residents benefit from DSWD’s Project LAWA and BINHI

DSWD, OPAPRU turnover housing units to former rebels in Zambo Norte

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, together with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. on Friday (August 30) led the turnover ceremony of 200 modified shelter units to Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) ex-militants and their families in Sibuco, Zamboanga Del Norte. The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) held the Gawad Sulong Awards on Friday (August 30) at the Sequioa Hotel in Quezon City. The event highlighted the outstanding achievements, dedication, and unwavering commitment of SLP participants, employees, and partners who are actively involved in the program. In her message, Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez of the DSWD’s Operations Group, said the Gawad Sulong Awards gives recognition to the efforts, passion and dedication of participants, partners and beneficiaries that make the SLP a successful anti-poverty reduction program of the Department.
