Social worker’s ‘lens’ used to balance NEDA, PSA data on food poor, poverty threshold – DSWD chief

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian said on Monday (August 19) that the agency does not only use monetary indicators or numbers in determining whether a family is poor or not. DSWD prepositions 6K food packs in Batanes for tropical storm Dindo

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian said the agency has prepositioned 6,000 family food packs (FFPs) in the province of Batanes for families that may be affected by tropical storm Dindo. “Right now, binabantayan namin yung Dindo. Bagamat hindi siya magla-landfall, naaapektuhan niya yung Batanes. DSWD culminates Government Internship Program

A total of 33 college students have completed their Government Internship Program (GIP), through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Program Management Bureau, and received their certificates of completion on Friday (August 16) at the DSWD Central Office Auditorium in Quezon City. DSWD welcomes favorable rating on disaster response ops, agency performance in latest Pulse Asia Survey

As the lead agency in the country’s disaster response efforts, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is pleased with the result of the latest Pulse Asia Ulat ng Bayan Survey indicating that 58 percent of Filipinos agree that the government’s response after a disaster is timely. DSWD-reinstated 4Ps households receive retropayment of education grants

Retroactive payments for the education grants have been credited on Wednesday (August 14 ) to the bank accounts of household beneficiaries who were reinstated into the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) following a reassessment using the Social Welfare and Development Indicators (SWDI). “We are pleased to announce that the households reinstated into the 4Ps program have already received their education grants through the LandBank of the Philippines.
