Student-volunteers unload ready-to-eat food packs in DSWD warehouse

Student-volunteers on Monday (June 16) help in the unloading of 2,000 Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) packs at the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay City. The volunteers included students from Far Eastern University (FEU), University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, and Saint Francis of Assisi College (SFAC). They were joined by personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippines Air Force (PAF). The RTEF packs, which contain pre-cooked meals, will complement the agency’s relief items for disaster-stricken families and individuals, as well as passengers stranded in ports.(LSJ).

Volunteers help DSWD ensure a continuous supply of food packs

Some 62 students volunteered on Wednesday (June 11) at the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to help in the repacking of family food packs (FFPs) intended for disaster-affected families. The volunteers were composed of 54 students from the Far Eastern University (FEU) and eight from the Members Church of God International (MCGI) who worked tirelessly at DSWD’s NROC warehouses in Pasay City. The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Management Committee (MANCOM) has provisionally approved four new sets of guidelines aimed at enhancing the agency’s innovative programs, disaster response monitoring, and donations management systems. Almost 2k ex-non-state armed groups, former combatants undergo DSWD assessment
