DSWD chief leads Pag-abot team in early morning reach out ops in Makati

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian talks to families and individuals in street situations (FISS) during an early morning reach out operations in Makati City on Friday (May 30). Secretary Gatchalian and the Pag-Abot team were joined by Rose, the woman who was seen emerging from a sewerage in Makati City. In a meeting with Secretary Gatchalian on May 29, Rose expressed her willingness to help in the program by convincing other FISS to be reached out by the DSWD’s Pag-Abot team. (MBM)

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian talks with “Rose,” the woman who was seen crawling out of a sewerage in Makati City early this week. Rose, who was taken to the DSWD Pag-abot Processing Center in Pasay City for assessment, told the DSWD chief the real story behind her photos. Rose, who collects recyclable garbage and sells them for a living, went into the sewerage after a small blade cutter she uses for her daily collection fell into the drainage. Representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and GCash guide beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from the Province of Palawan in registering their GCash e-wallet accounts during the “e-Panalo ang Kinabukasan” digital financial literacy initiative. DSWD Pag-abot team locates woman who surfaced from sewerage in Makati City

Members of the Pag-abot reach out team of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) visited on Wednesday (May 28) the vicinity at the corner of Rufino and Adelantado Streets in Salcedo Village, Barangay Bel-Air in Makati City in an effort to locate the woman who surfaced from a sewerage in the area. DSWD’s Pag-Abot team conducts follow-up reach out operations in NIA Rd in QC

Members of the Pag-Abot reach out team of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) returned on Tuesday (May 27) to NIA Road in Quezon City where they re-engaged with the families and individuals living along the thoroughfare. Last May 23, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian led the Pag-Abot team in a reach-out operation in the vicinity of NIA Road with 13 families and 9 individuals in street situations chose to avail the program services such as temporary shelter and bringing them back to their respective provinces.
