DSWD’s MANCOM meets to discuss policies to improve agency’s service delivery

Members of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Management Committee (MANCOM) convene for their 8th regular meeting to discuss pending memorandum circulars and administrative orders that will help strengthen the implementation of the agency’s programs and services. DSWD chief, Agence Française de Développement exec commit to stronger partnership in fighting involuntary hunger

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian meets with Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Social Protection Project Team Leader Thomas Gonnet on Friday (May 9) to explore ways of strengthening partnership to address involuntary hunger in the Philippines. DSWD chief visits wake of 4-year-old NAIA 1 car crash victim

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Friday (May 9) visited the wake of the 4-year-old kid who was one of the two fatalities in the car crash at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 last May 4. The DSWD chief extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the agency, through the DSWD Field Office-CALABARZON, will continue to reach out to them to provide additional social welfare interventions. DSWD, PAWS heighten push for animal-aided therapy, responsible pet ownership

Continuing the momentum for their collaborative project ‘Angel Pets,’ the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) held on Thursday (May 8) a one-day event to elevate awareness on animal-aided therapy and the importance of responsible pet ownership. The Angel Pets integrates animal-assisted therapy to the therapeutic and supportive process of clients, particularly young girls and women who have experienced abuse, neglect, or those living with psychosocial disabilities, in select DSWD centers and facilities. DSWD Central Office holds nationwide frontline service inspection

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led by its Committee on Anti-Red Tape (CART), conducted a nationwide frontline service inspection on Thursday (May 8) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City. Representatives from the agency’s Internal Audit Service (IAS) and Management Service (MS), and partners from Jollibee Group Foundation Inc. and Ayala Foundation Inc. served as assessors of selected frontline services of the Department. DSWD chief, partners ground break PH’s first agricamp for children in conflict with the law in Palawan

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, together with Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., on Wednesday (May 7) led the ceremonial groundbreaking of the country’s first agricultural campsite for children in conflict with the law (CICL) that will be constructed at the Inagawan Sub-Colony in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
