DSWD backs launch of National Reintegration Network to strengthen support for OFWs

June 13, 2025

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), represented by Assistant Secretary for Protective Programs Ada Colico, joins 15 partner government agencies in the ceremonial signing of the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) for the establishment of the National Reintegration Network (NRN) held on June 7 (Saturday) at the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) in Quezon City.

The NRN, a unified national effort led by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), aims to provide faster, more accessible, and holistic reintegration services to returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.

With the DSWD’s participation, the agency will ensure that OFWs and their families receive essential support such as livelihood assistance, financial aid, and other necessary services.

The initiative, based on the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 11641 or the DMW Act, aims to “strengthen societal stakeholders’ coordination in the delivery of reintegration services, including but not limited to livelihood, microenterprise and employment assistance and referrals to returning OFWs.”

The ceremonial signing also brings together agencies to fulfill President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ‘s directive for stronger inter-agency collaboration to enhance the delivery of reintegration programs and services of the OFWs. # (YADP)
