DSWD Bicol continues relief aid to Kristine-hit families in Albay

October 23, 2024

In response to communities hardly-hit by the Tropical Storm (TS) Kristine, Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office (FO) 5 – Bicol Region continues to extend relief assistance on Wednesday (October 23) to severely-affected families in the province of Albay.

Over Php150,000-worth of family food packs (FFPs) have been provided to 221 displaced families from Barangay 1, Barangay 5, Barangay Banawan temporarily staying at three evacuation centers in Pio Duran.

Meanwhile, FFPs amounting to Php62,100 have reached 90 families who have evacuated at Ligao East Central School and Basag Evacuation Center in Ligao City amid the incessant rainfall brought about by TS Kristine.

As the provincial local government unit (PLGU) of Albay declares the province under a state of calamity, the DSWD’s Bicol regional office is heightening its coordination with concerned local government units (LGUs) to monitor the condition of affected families and continuously augment relief support.
