Despite the red rainfall warning in Metro Manila, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian continues his rounds to check on the condition of ‘habagat’ evacuees on Tuesday (July 22). His first stop was the evacuation center at the Atis Covered Court, Barangay Payatas in Quezon City followed by the temporary shelter at the H. Bautista Elementary School in Marikina City.

Aside from overseeing the distribution of relief goods, the DSWD chief personally asked the affected individuals if they need additional assistance or interventions to help them cope with their current condition.

Secretary Gatchalian will head later to another evacuation center in Rodriguez, Rizal.

On Monday (July 21), the DSWD chief also visited evacuees in three evacuation centers in Central Luzon.(AKDL)
