Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Wednesday (November 6) joined President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the Camarines Sur leg of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolks, and Families (PAFFF) held at the Fuerte Sports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur.

In the aid giving, a total of Php50 million under the Ayuda Para Sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) were distributed to 5,000 farmers and fisherfolks from 15 municipalities of Camarines Sur, whose livelihoods were disrupted following the widespread flooding due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Among Cabinet officials who supervised the aid distribution were Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., and Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Antonio Lagdameo Jr.

Accompanying Secretary Gatchalian were DSWD Undersecretary for Operations Monina Josefina Romualdez and Field Office 5 – Bicol Regional Director Norman Laurio. (LSJ)
