Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian joins Sorsogon Governor Edwin Hamor early Tuesday (April 29) morning for a situation briefing on the effects of the eruption of Mt. Bulusan.

Secretary Gatchalian assured the mayors present at the briefing that under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the DSWD and other national government agencies (NGAs) will continue to monitor and support the needs of their affected constituents.

Joining the DSWD chief in the briefing held at the Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (SPDRRMO) in Sorsogon City were Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe of the DSWD’s Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) and Regional Director Norman Laurio of DSWD Field Office 5 – Bicol Region.
