

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian flies to Palawan on Thursday (May 29) to lead two significant milestone events for the beneficiaries of the agency’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the island province.
The DSWD chief supervised the phone distribution to 4Ps beneficiaries, including Indigenous Peoples, from the towns of Bataraza and Brooke’s Point, as part of the agency’s ‘e-Panalo ang Kinabukasan’ initiative which promotes digital financial literacy among program members.
Following the phone distribution, Secretary Gatchalian, on behalf of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, greeted the graduating 4Ps members from the two municipalities during the ceremony dubbed “Pugay Tagumpay” held at the Bataraza Town Center.
The DSWD officials who joined Secretary Gatchalian in the twin-events were Assistant Secretaries Marites Maristela and Irene Dumlao, and DSWD-MIMAROPA Region Director Leonardo Reynoso.
Also present were local officials and partners from Globe, Gcash, Ayala Foundation, and Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Foundation. (YADP)
