Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian is pleased with the approval of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services’ (KALAHI-CIDSS) successor program, the Panahon ng Pagkilos: Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP) by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board on Wednesday (March 19).

Joining the DSWD chief in the photo are KALAHI-CIDSS Program Manager Atty. Bernadette Mapue-Joaquin; NEDA-Investment Coordination Committee (ICC) Secretariat members Aisah Matanog and Ma. Lexa Cordova; and NEDA OIC Assistant Director Calixto Mangilin, Jr.

The Panahon ng Pagkilos project builds on the successes of the KALAHI-CIDSS National Community-Driven Development Program (NCDDP), which began in 2014 with funding from the World Bank.

This new project will integrate lessons learned from past CDD efforts and aims to further strengthen community-based mechanisms to address emerging risks, such as environmental hazards, economic shocks, and health vulnerabilities. (AKDL)
