As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen multi-sectoral partnerships and promote its online donation’s portal, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will bring together on Friday (June 27) partners and stakeholders for engagement with the agency’s Kaagapay Donations Portal (KDP).
Launched under the leadership of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, the Kaagapay Donations Portal is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr’s directive to digitalize key government processes and transactions for faster delivery of service to people in need.
Asst. Secretary Marie Rafael of the DSWD’s Partnership Building and Resource Mobilization Office (PBRMO) said the “Kaagapay Partnership Encounter” will provide a venue for accredited Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) including foundations, civil society organizations, donors, national government agency-partners, and other key stakeholders for building linkages to strengthen their programs and projects through the digital system.
“Through the Kaagapay Partnership Encounter, we want to reinforce the role of digital platforms in achieving an inclusive, timely, and coordinated provision of social protection services and disaster response,” Asst. Secretary Rafael said.
The PBRMO official said the event will serve as a platform for participants to engage with fellow stakeholders in order to strengthen cross-sector partnership.
“Each sector brings in unique strength in our goal to build a better society by sharing and giving to charitable institutions that have been our partners in serving our marginalized and vulnerable kababayans,” Asst. Secretary Rafael pointed out
The DSWD executive emphasized that SWDAs have been the DSWD’s partner in nation- building over the years and they are the Department’s multiplier.
“We want to highlight in this event that when we put together these strengths – logistics, technical expertise, digital systems, resources, and capacities, among others – we can bring more effective, more inclusive, and better services for people in need,” Asst. Secretary Rafael pointed out.
The event will also serve as the culmination of a two-day workshop of the DSWD with the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre of Singapore, Giving.Sg, and other foundations to improve the KDP.
The Partnership Encounter will be participated in by representatives from SWDAs, DSWD-managed centers and residential care facilities (CRCFs), electronic money issuers (EMIs), financial technology partners, logistics and distribution partners, civil society organizations (CSOs), non-government organizations (NGOs), international development institutions, academic institutions, and other members of the private sector.
