

Beyond any recognition, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) expressed its gratitude for being part of the Bagong Bayani Serbisyo Caravan conducted by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at the Philippine School of Doha in Qatar on Friday (July 25).
Leading the DSWD team, Assistant Secretary Ada Colico of the Protective Services received from Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Mardomel Celo D. Melicor a certificate of recognition for bringing the Department’s programs and services to the OFWs in Doha.
Assisting the Ambassador in the awarding ceremony were DMW Undersecretary Atty. Jainal T. Rasul, Jr., Asst. Secretary Venecio V. Legaspi, and DMW Labor Attache Atty. Eduard C. Ferrer.
The DSWD provided a total of 179 counselling sessions and responded to program inquiries from 75 ‘bagong bayani’ in Doha with concerns on solo parent services, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), Minors Travelling Abroad (MTA) permit application, and the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
The DSWD team members who responded to the inquiries of the OFWs were composed of Head Executive Assistant (HEA) Atty. Hurjae Lubag, Irish Opena, Maria Alexelle Ceralde, Adrian Aldea, Maria Gracia Tomniak, Genalor Fischer, and Ralph Raffy Daisog. # (GDVF)
