Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian and Caritas Philippines Foundation Inc. President Most Reverend Jose Colin Bagaforo sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand the implementation of DSWD programs and services.
The ceremonial signing, held at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City on Wednesday (June 18), formalized the partnership enabling Caritas Philippines, a charity work of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), to implement existing DSWD programs through its network of social action centers under its confederation.
Among the identified activities are values formation and skills training for clients of DSWD-managed centers and residential care facilities (CRCFs); financial literacy and promotion of the First 1,000 Days (F1KD) under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps); and character-building and tutoring sessions for beneficiaries of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program. (YADP)
