DSWD Field Office-5 provides hot meals to stranded passengers in Bicol Region

September 2, 2024

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office-5 (Bicol Region) distributed hot meals to 618 stranded passengers in the ports of Masbate, Sorsogon, and Albay due to the cancellation of sea travel caused by Tropical Storm Enteng on Monday (September 2).

As Typhoon Enteng intensifies and continues to affect the Bicol Region, the DSWD Field Office-5 remains on alert status as Bicol regional office personnel continue to coordinate with concerned local government units (LGUs) for the needed assistance to all affected families and individuals.

As part of resource deployment preparation, the Field Office-5 has prepositioned 129,243 boxes of family food packs (FFPs) and 78,283 non-food relief items in various LGUs and DSWD-managed warehouses across the Bicol Region, ready to be dispatched to Enteng-hit areas.#
