Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Asst. Secretary Elaine Fallarcuna of the agency’s Legislative Affairs Group (LAG) expressed the Philippine government’s support and commitment to persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups during the 18th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP18-CRPD).

During the conference, the DSWD and its attached agency, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), also spearheaded a side event to advance the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The COSP18-CPDR, held from June 10 to 12, was organized by the UN Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially women and girls and the UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities. (AKDL)
