
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) officially kicked-off its 74th anniversary celebration on Monday (February 17) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City.
Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay Villar of the International Affairs, Attached and Supervised Agencies (IASAs) Group, who is also the Committee Chairperson for the 74th DSWD Anniversary, announced the series of activities lined up for the week-long celebration.
Undersecretary Villar mentioned the ceremonial awarding for the ISO 9001 and 27001 Certification for the DSWD as the first activity for the week.
On Tuesday (February 18), a series of launches will be held at the SMX Convention Center to be led by Secretary Rex Gatchalian and with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr as guest of honor.
The agency’s newest digitalization efforts such as the Kaagapay Donations Portal, Harmonized Electronic License and Permit System (HELPS) and Minors Travelling Abroad (MTA), alongside the ‘Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas’ Compendium will be introduced at the launch activities.
Other events for the week include the media launch of Angel Pets and the unveiling of other new programs such as the Apo Ko program, the First 1,000 Days of Life grants (F1KD), and the Sustainable Livelihood Program’s (SLP) Electronic Vehicle for Persons with Disabilities.
The DSWD also organized a week-long Bazaar which will be open from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m, featuring a variety of food delights, ready-to-wear items, hand-made products, accessories, among others from small businesses and food chains.
