
The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) launches on Thursday (August 29) the “Alunsina”, a kabuhayan convention and bazaar held at the Risen Garden in Quezon City Hall.
Leading the ribbon cutting ceremony are Asst. Secretary Florentino Loyola Jr. of the Specialized Programs of the DSWD’s Operations Group; Congresswoman and Deputy Speaker Kristine Singson-Meehan; Ms. Mona Yap, head of the Small Business Cooperative Development Promotion Office of Quezon City Hall and SLP Operations Division Chief Marife C Leon.
All the regions, from Aparri to Jolo, participated in Alunsina, where they showcased their products, including handicrafts, woven materials, traditional food, sweets, delicacies and other pasalubong items.
The SLP is a capacity-building program that provides access to livelihood opportunities for marginalized and poor communities to improve their economic well-being. #
